You just say ‘wow’ when you see Burna Boy’s mansion design!

In the heart of Lagos, Nigeria, Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning artist, welcomed 2020 by settling into a magnificent seven-bedroom mansion crafted by his visionary architect, Akose Enebeli. This two-story Lekki residence is not merely a dwelling; it’s a testament to Burna’s unique taste and global lifestyle.

Enebeli’s architectural masterpiece, a sprawling 13,000 square foot haven, stands as an oasis of tranquility amidst the bustling energy of Lagos, a city pulsating with 20 million lives. The exterior, adorned in calming tones of beige and gray, conceals within it a world of modern luxury. With lofty ceilings, a personal theater, lounges, and a game room, every inch of the mansion exudes opulence. Tall windows and ample garage space showcase meticulous design.

Divided into two sections, the 3,700 square foot edifice maximizes natural light and functionality. One section houses a recording studio, gym, and guest artist accommodations, creating a vibrant space for creativity. The other, a more private realm, encompasses Burna’s principal bedroom suite, a personal terrace, and a cozy gathering spot for his closest companions.

Downstairs, the absence of doors creates a seamless, open flow between rooms. The main living room, offering a panoramic view of manicured gardens, becomes a focal point for Burna’s artistic pursuits and social gatherings.

Born in Port Harcourt, about 384 miles away, Burna wanted his home to evoke the serene ambiance of the lagoons and creeks of his hometown. Reflecting on the design, he shares, “I have a lot of Rivers stuff, water noises. It’s very water-inspired, that’s all. It’s serene. Nature communicates with me.”

Inside, a preference for all-white walls sets the stage for Burna’s curated art collection. Acquisitions such as the enormous golden insect parts, a half-horse marble sculpture, a female bust, and the Throne of Grace from Lagos’s Throne of Grace add distinctive touches. A striking bicycle artwork by Atelier 225 completes the ensemble, turning Burna’s Lagos residence into a true masterpiece that reflects the intersection of nature, art, and the artist himself.
