The pair of professional-football-playing brothers (Jason for the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis for the Kansas City Chiefs) host a podcast called New Heights, which has been quite the successful venture.

You would be hard pressed to find a pro-athlete that doesn’t have a podcast nowadays, and I’m not necessarily saying that is a good thing.

However, I am a fan of the work that the Kelce’s have done together, and some of the hilarious stories they have shared might not have ever been told if not for their podcast.

And in addition to that, Jason Kelce was the focus of a Amazon Prime Video documentary called Kelce, which was just recently released on the streaming platform. There are a lot of great, behind-the-scenes moments that are included in the film, but one specific moment is garnering a lot of attention.

When Jason Kelce and the Eagles made it to the Super Bowl (and played against his brother Travis and the Chiefs) last year, the star center apparently had to pay around $50,000 for Super Bowl tickets for his wife, two young daughters, and family.

In the documentary, Jason’s wife Kylie Kelce was calculating the cost of tickets, and figured out that it was going to run them a smooth 50K:

“Alright, I’m doing the maximum amount of tickets that you can purchase, because that’s the amount we were counting for. This is why I don’t go on the calculator on my phone.

We’re paying almost $4,000 for a f**king kid who is not going to sit in a seat to watch her dad play in a game. That’s bananas.”

Once she figured out the total price, Jason responded:

“It’s a lot of money. It is.”

Many people would just assume that those playing in the Super Bowl could get some of their family into the game for free, but this documentary shed some light on the process and proved that isn’t the case.

It was important to Jason and Kylie Kelce that their children, aged two and three years old, were there to see their Dad play, even if they might not remember it or even watch the game.

That’s why they ended up dishing out the massive amount of money anyways, which would probably surprise a lot of football fans.

There’s no telling how many millions of dollars the NFL makes each season, and it seems like the least they could do is get Super Bowl participants some free tickets…
