Kylie Kelce enjoyed an afternoon on the field with two of the women from Team USA’s field hockey team recently, and she took fans along for the outing!

Kelce, 31, posted a video on TikTok with Ashley Sessa and Kelee Lepage, whom she agreed to interview for a segment on NBC Philadelphia.

“I could not have said yes faster,” she said of when the network “reached out and asked” if she’d like to interview two of the Olympic-qualifying athletes for the USA field hockey team.

To start the post on TikTok, Kelce, a former collegiate field hockey player and high school coach, continued her running joke of “places Kylie has no business being,” which began when she attended the Alberta Ferretti show during Milan Fashion Week in February.

“Hey guys, we’re back with another edition of places Kylie has no business being, and today we’re on a field with women’s national field hockey players, Ashley and Kelee. I have no business out here,” she said.

Kelce told her viewers that Lepage and Sessa “just helped the US field hockey team qualify for this summer’s Olympics in Paris,” adding, “which is all the more reason why I have no business being here.”

The TikTok included clips of Kelce, Lepage and Sessa shooting and running drills on the indoor field. Kelce poked fun at her shots in comparison to the Olympic qualifiers, joking, “Here comes grandma shuffling along,” in a voiceover.

Over a clip of her taking a shot, Kelce wrote, “I’m a self-aware granny,” on the video.

“Before anyone tries to critique me, I know head down, chest down. I am rusty as anything out here playing with elite field hockey players, cut me some slack,” she said.
After she spent time with Sessa and Lepage, Kelce said the meeting “was such a cool experience” for her. “Such an honor to hang out and chat with Ashley and Kelee,” she said.

“I am so excited to cheer on Team USA when they head to the Olympics this summer, and stay tuned; this interview will be airing on NBC.”

In November, Kelce hosted a youth field hockey camp in Kansas City with the help of her mother-in-law, Donna Kelce.

Speaking with Spectrum Sports KC at the time, the mother of three explained how she hopes her camp will inspire the next generation of female athletes on and off of the field. “Sports teaches teamwork,” Kylie said, adding that playing for a team teaches kids to “come together to work towards a common goal.”

Kylie, who said she began playing field hockey when she was going into the second grade, added, “And all of those things are transferable skills to the rest of life, so what better time to start than as early as possible?”

Since discovering her passion for field hockey, Kylie said she “hasn’t had a Fall without” the sport, “between coaching or playing,” since 7th grade. “And I have no intentions of breaking that streak anytime soon,” she added.

NFL fans are praying for Patrick Mahomes and his family following some heartbreaking news.

Debbie Bates Martin, the grandmother of the Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback, passed away last Wednesday following unspecified health battles at the age of 72. Debbie was the mother of Patrick’s mom, Randi Mahomes.

Teresa Jane, a close friend of Randi’s, announced the sad news in a Facebook post. On Monday evening, Randi sent out this emotional message on Twitter:

Football fans offered a series of condolences to the Mahomes family on Twitter.

So sorry for your loss. My Nana passed last year, and she was everything to me. Prayers for your family. ??

Martin appeared on several news stories throughout Mahomes’ first five years as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback. Ahead of Kansas City’s 2019 Divisional Round matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, Martin was interviewed by KETK NBC in East Texas.

“I can’t believe it’s all happening. He’s only 23 years old, and Kansas City’s had him a year, and he’s just great up there…He hasn’t changed and he’ll always be Patrick,” Martin told the media outlet.

Mahomes, who won the regular season MVP award that year, led the Chiefs to a 31-13 victory over the Colts in the Divisional Round. That sent Kansas City to their first of five straight (and counting) AFC Championship Game appearances. The Chiefs lost the 2018 AFC title game to the New England Patriots but have rallied to win three of the last four conference championships, as well as two Super Bowls.

Martin’s obituary states that she is survived by husband Randy, their children, her four sisters, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Martin’s funeral was held Monday at the Rader Funeral Home in Henderson, Texas.

Our condolences are with the family and friends of Martin during this difficult time.

Mike Trout

Reflecting on trade rumors ahead of the 2024 season, Los Angeles Angels slugger Mike Trout seemed to keep the door open for such a possibility

Speaking out about consistent trade rumors as the Los Angeles Angels repeatedly disappoint on the field, Mike Trout shut down the idea that he’d ask for a trade while acknowledging that one is always possible.

“On the trade front — he said he’s happy being in Anaheim right now,” The Athletic’s Sam Blum reported. “But left open the possibility that he’d be open to (a) trade down the line.”

With Angels owner Arte Moreno recently downplaying the notion that he’d spend money on major free agent acquisitions this offseason unless they would “substantially change the team,” and Trout due to earn an average of $35.6 million every year until 2030, it’s not difficult to imagine that his time with the Angels may soon end.

Projecting the most likely trade suitors for Trout for FanSided, Christopher Kline predicted the Los Angeles Dodgers could “furnish the Angels with a suitable compensatory package” in exchange for Trout.

“It’s almost too easy,” Kline wrote of the potential trade. “He wouldn’t have to leave Anaheim. It’s a simple commute, across town, on a team destined to win a ton of games. It’s past time for Trout to win in the playoffs, which is presumably his primary goal in the event of a trade. The Dodgers assure him the best opportunity to do so.”

Adding Mike Trout Could Give the Dodgers an Unparalleled Batting Order

After signing Trout’s former teammate Shohei Ohtani to a record-setting, $700 million deal this offseason, the Dodgers are set to have one of the most formidable batting orders in MLB. Ohtani will likely bat second, sandwiched by star sluggers Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman.

Arriving with the Dodgers, Trout might join Ohtani somewhere in the middle of that sandwich. To kick off the 2023 season, Trout batted second and Ohtani third for the Angels, though the two switched off between those spots when they were both healthy.

Either way, four of the best hitters in baseball would be at the top of the order for the Dodgers, with a fearsome group rounding out the remaining spots as well.

“The Dodgers would match the Braves and Phillies for power, and then some,” Kline noted. “I’m not sure any pitching staff can credibly claim to have the solution for Los Angeles’ offense at that point.”

Perhaps the only solution would be hoping the offense succumbs to its frequent injury history. Ohtani is coming off of an elbow procedure that will keep him off the mound in 2024. Trout’s formidable career has been riddled with injury problems, and it’s hard to imagine him lasting an entire season in full health.

The Dodgers Can Part With Prospect Depth to Add Mike Trout

Even after a blockbuster offseason, the Dodgers have one of the most highly-ranked farm systems in MLB.

As a result, they can compile an attractive package for any trade candidate, including Trout. Earlier in the offseason, Héctor Gómez of Spanish-language outlet Periódica Hoy reported that the Dodgers were “willing to give up their best prospects in exchange for landing Trout.”

As of the 2023 rankings, that would include Dalton Rushing, a plus-power catcher and first baseman; Diego Cartaya, another plus-power catcher; Nick Frasso, a right-handed pitcher with an explosive fastball; Gavin Stone, a right-handed pitcher with a plus changeup; and Jackson Ferris, a left-handed pitcher with a three-plus-pitch arsenal.
