When it comes to football, there is no team better than the Kansas City Chiefs, and they have the Vince Lombardi Trophy to show as evidence. But in terms of making the players satisfied with different areas related to an array of subjects including quality of team facilities and ownership, there is barely anything that signifies winning within the Chiefs organization, as reflected by the latest annual team report cards from surveys conducted by the NFL Players Association.

In fact, the Kansas City Chiefs, who are on a quest to win three Super Bowls in a row, came in second to last in the overall rankings, a slap to the face of a franchise that has been associated so much of late to greatness on the field.

Enter Stephen A. Smith, who did not hold back in calling out the Kansas City Chiefs after the team got exposed. Smith was particularly critical of the Chiefs’ ownership.

“The fact of the matter is, in order for change to be provoked, those who are in an elevated position have to step up and say this is unacceptable,” Smith said during an episode of First Take.

“You can’t go from A-list treatment to going home, and your stuff resembles the equivalent of a high school facility. So, to the Hunt family, I would ask you to look at this report. You have an obligation to do better as an organization,” Smith continued.

“And yes, Kansas City Chiefs, if you are listening, you are being called out on national television for a dereliction of duty to people who produce for you on an everyday basis. Do better.”

Not many people agree with many of Smith’s takes, but there is nothing wrong in asking a team – any team – to serve its players better.
