The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back another familiar face for the defensive line ahead of the 2024 season. The Chiefs have made keeping the defensive line stable a priority this offseason. The Chiefs re-signed Tershawn Wharton, Malik Herring, Derrick Nnadi, Chris Jones, and Mike Pennel.

Those moves come as the secondary will have significant changes for the fall. The Chiefs traded cornerback L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans. They let safety Mike Edwards walk away to the Buffalo Bills in free agency.

Mike Danna re-signs with the Chiefs

According to Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Chiefs re-signed Mike Danna to a three-year deal worth $24 million. $13 million will be guaranteed for the Chiefs’ 2020 fifth-round pick.

Danna had his best season in 2023

At 26, Danna has recorded 17 sacks in his four-year NFL career. Danna started in 16 games last season, his first year as a full-time starter. He recorded 59 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks.

Pro Football Focus gave Danna a 67.0 grade for his overall performance last season.
