While hosting a live New Heights podcast event, the brothers received diplomas during a “surprise commencement” ceremony at the University of Cincinnati on April 11.
Although Travis, 34, earned a degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2022 and Jason, 36, got a bachelor’s degree in marketing, neither attended their commencement ceremonies at the time, per the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Proud parents Donna and Ed Kelce were also on hand to celebrate the moment at Fifth Third Arena, when university president Dr. Neville Pinto — in full graduation regalia — presented the Kelce brothers with their diplomas, the outlet reported.
Before being handed the diploma, Travis celebrated the moment by chugging a beer as the raucous crowd cheered on his effort. Or as Dan Hoard, the radio voice of Cincinnati Bengals and University of Cincinnati, put it, “Receiving a diploma…Travis Kelce style.”
“A surprise commencement we’ll never forget,” the university posted on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Congratulations to Travis and Jason on (finally) picking up their diplomas!”
Earlier at the event, Travis showed off his dance moves during the taping of the podcast.
As the Kansas City Chiefs tight end stood beside his older brother on stage, he was seen swaying to a marching band-rendition of girlfriend Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off.”

Ahead of the live taping, Travis shared with Jason and Lil Dicky on the April 10 episode of New Heights that he’s still not sure how he ended up dating the pop superstar.
The comedian, 36, then told Travis that his relationship with the Grammy winner, 34, is “the best thing ever.”
“I appreciate it, man,” Travis responded. “I don’t know how I did it because she wasn’t into sports, so I don’t know how the f— I did it.”
