Super Bowl 2024 is paying homage to its players — and late Las Vegas great Frank Sinatra.
In an emotional pregame moment on Sunday, NFL players Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Brock Purdy and more spoke about the importance of the game, and the familiar faces that led them there.
Set to an orchestral rendition of Sinatra’s “My Way,” the players received messages from family as they made their way to the final stage.
Kelce, 34, teared up as he watched a childhood video of himself. “Everybody that’s helped me get to this point, I get to represent them,” he said. “It’s a good feeling, man.”
“What better stage to showcase who you are? This is why I love playing in the Super Bowl. It’s been a hell of a journey, baby,” the Chiefs tight end also said. “My family — I owe everything to them.”

“There are so many people that have helped me get to this point,” said Mahomes, 28, as other NFL players shared the losses and reflections of their family members.
“It hasn’t just been a one-man show the whole way,” added Purdy, 24.
Family members of the players applauded the step they’ve taken throughout their athletic career to make it to the final stage.
“He took the pen and wrote the story of his life the way he wanted it to be, instead of the way that everybody else thought it should be,” a family member of Chris Jones said.

“I keep asking people to pinch me,” family members said, as all offered well wishes to bring the Vince Lombardi trophy home.
“I’m just so incredibly proud,” another said.
The segment served as the official introduction to Super Bowl 2024 as both an ode to the NFL stars, and to Las Vegas — the 2024 host city.
The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers face off in Super Bowl LVIII, airing on CBS on Feb. 11.
