The Kansas City Chiefs player heaped praise on MLS star Lionel Messi as part of a live broadcast with his brother Jason as part of the New Heights podcast
Lionel Messi’s arrival in the United States continues to generate talking points with the Argentine also making waves in other sports. This time around it was the turn for two NFL start to discuss the veteran striker’s impact since his move to Inter Miami last summer as brothers Travis and Jason Kelce discussed the world champion’s performances with the MLS club in a live broadcast.
In the New Heights podcast, Chiefs’ star Travis Kelce disagreed with the comments that his brother, Jason made, claiming that after watching the Argentine against Sporting Kansas City last weekend and seeing him play in MLS is not the same as in the top football in Europe, specifically with FC Barcelona.

“MLS is not like international soccer. Watching him play in Miami is not the same as in Barcelona or when he won the World Cup. Seeing Michael Jordan on a golf course is not as amazing as seeing him in a Chicago Bulls uniform,” Jason Kelce explained.
Travis objected and maintained that Messi won the World Cup over a year and a half ago and that the comparison he made with Jordan related to two different sports and not an accurate comparison.

The Kansas City Chiefs player assured that despite his 36 years of age and the multiple comparisons that have been made with Messi’s career, the Argentine continues to delight and surprise football fans.
“He’s great, he’s electric. He was responsible for making MLS fun last year”, Travis Kelce added.

Jason endeavoured to assure listeners, that his point was not to say that Messi was not positive for the MLS, as he tried to explain that he didn’t feel the same emotion was transmitted as when Messi played for Barcelona or when he is with Argentina.
“I’m not saying it’s not good for the league, but it’s not the same as when he scores for Argentina and ignites a nation “The whole thing erupts with joy and emotion,” added Jason Kelce.
