Michael Jordan's collector's card sold at auction for a record amount

An Upper Deck Ultimate Collection 2003 trading card featuring Michael Jordan’s autograph from the Logoman brand was auctioned and sold for $2,928,000.

According to ESPN, this is the most expensive trading card featuring the American basketball player ever sold. Logoman cards are typically limited to one copy and include an NBA logo patch, usually cut from a game-worn jersey.

The auction description highlighted that this is the first Logoman card of Michael Jordan in the shape of the Chicago Bulls logo.

Recently, another collectible MJ card, the MJ Star No. 101 from the 1984/85 season, sold for nearly a million dollars, fetching $925,000. The previous record was held by a 1986 Fleer Jordan card with a PSA 10 rating, which sold at a PWCC auction in July 2021 for $840,000.
