Every single NBA Draft brings out a player who is always compared to Michael Jordan, he is the golden standard of what the most well-rounded player should be. Throughout history, Jordan has only acknowledged Kobe Bryant as a player who has many similarities with him. That changed today as there is a new young talent who has been getting those comparisons with MJ in recent months. We are talking about Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards. Back in February, Celtics legend Kevin Garnet had already compared this Ant with a 1984 Michael Jordan. When journalist Rachel Nichols asked Edwards about this, he was all in with the comparison.

But a recent development will definitely put a smile on Edwards‘ face, it comes directly from the source according to Fox Sports. Analyst Chris Broussard has direct contact with Michael Jordan, they are good friends. Amid the recent comparisons and reactions from Anthony Edwards himself, Broussard couldn’t help himself. And he did get a response from Jordan to confirm what’s been said, he sees similarities as everybody else does. Broussard said this on ‘First Things First’: “I reached out to the GOAT today, Michael Jordan. And Jordan said there are similarities in their games. He agreed. So, if Jordan says there are similarities, there are similarities.”
But just how similar is Anthony Edwards to MJ? They both share similar dunking skills, Edwards does have better jumping than Jordan. Finishing around the rim is almost spot on. The only difference is that Michael Jordan was a mid-range savant who could produce some moves we’ve only seen Kobe Bryant replicate after him. Perhaps Edwards is still trying to find the better version of himself but this is definitely the best possible start. As soon as he starts winning champinships with the Wolves, comparisons will only intensify. But what do you think about this comparison between Anthony Edwards and Michael Jordan?
