Jason Kelce’s wife, Kylie, recently gave a commencement speech at her alma mater of Cabrini University in Pennsylvania and delivered a phenomenal line. And no, it had nothing to do with Harrison Butker’s recent commencement speech, she didn’t touch that lightning rod of a situation.
Kylie played field hockey at the liberal arts school and graduated in 2017. Over the course of the last seven years, life has gotten a bit crazier for Kylie as she has since become Mrs. Kelce and her brother-in-law happens to be dating the most-famous woman on planet Earth.
Kylie was a good get for Cabrini, let’s put it that way, and she seemed to crush her commencement speech. The funniest moment came when she was addressing the students and joked that they couldn’t even get a “top-five Kelce” to send them off.
“Your high school graduation was stolen from you by a global pandemic, then your college announced it was closing and your senior year was spent on a campus that resembled a ghost town, and now, this. You couldn’t even get a top-five Kelce as your commencement speaker,” she joked.
While everyone in the class of 2024 had a tough draw with most of them having their high school graduations taken away from them due to COVID, Cabrini’s class of 2024 undoubtedly had a difficult go.
The school announced that it had sold its Radnor campus to Villanova due to financial issues, so these students graduating in 2024 were being handed diplomas with a school’s name written on it that essentially no longer exists.
On the one hand, it would be a cool story to have in your back pocket to say that you graduated from a college that has since shut its doors. On the other, when you remember you spent $33,000 per year to earn a degree from a college that shut down, it becomes a lot less cool.
