It has been 15 days since the Philadelphia Eagles star player brought tears into the eyes of his fans, especially his family. Amidst a lot of retirement speculations and talks, Jason Kelce finally hung his cleats on March 4, 2024.
The day was emotionally heavy for the Kelce’s faithful, as many NFL analysts, players, and teams hailed their respect for him, soon after his official press conference announcement. Another popular figure from the football world, Cam Newton, now chimed in his retirement news, expressing his “real emotion” for Kelce’s family, and his viral video speech.
Cam Newton wished for more emotional content?
In a recent episode of “4th & 1 With Cam Newton,” the former NFL athlete played the video of Jason Kelce, where he could be seen emotional while giving his retirement speech, and his younger brother, Travis Kelce, is seen struggling to hold back his tears. Newton shared his thoughts on the emotional moment and informed the viewers what would he have done if he would have been at the event, whether he would have cried too or not. The 34-year-old said, “My take on this is this we need more content humanizing Heroes. We all can relate to this.”
He added, “What I see is a younger brother or a brother seeing not just the NFL career, not just the college career, not just the high school career, just the whole football career in this speech. What I’m saying is life, because my whole life has been football until this time. That’s a very real moment that we’re not used to.”Newton further appreciated, “We come from something, we got family, we got significant others, we got moms, we got dads, we got children, and he was just there to support but you just love to see real emotions you know what I’m saying like don’t just be there like yeah bro whatever like, I feel that. So if my brother were to have a moment or me having a moment, I know that response or that reaction would kind of be pulled from them, it’s like I said humanistic action that nobody’s above like. We have real emotions and it’s good to kind of see this.”
Additionally, Newton commended Travis’ reaction, recognizing it as something many people can relate to and aspire to experience. He also gave a shout out to Kelce’s family, including mom Donna Kelce, for their presence and support during this heartfelt moment.
What’s next for Jason Kelce?
Jason Kelce has been a football player for the last 13 years, but now he’s thinking about what he’ll do after retiring from the NFL. In February, he revealed that he might consider coaching football in school in Philadelphia. Additionally, after his retirement, it was reported that he is interested in becoming a TV analyst.

Networks like CBS, NBC, and ESPN have also shown interest in having him as an analyst. Besides these, Kelce could also focus on his personal life, improving his skills around the house and trying new things.
While he’s not sure exactly what he’ll do yet, he has definitely got some exciting options to explore.
