There was a brief comical moment on Monday afternoon during a heartfelt answer from Eagles longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland. Stoutland was attempting to explain the bond he shares with recently retired Jason Kelce after having coached him for the last nine seasons. “Well, when you’re with people like as long as we are, you’ve got to realize the amount of time we put in together,” Stoutland said. “I mean, it’s actually just in some round about way, it’s kind of sad. We spend way more time here with these guys than we do with our own families. Way more time.” So he and Kelce forged an unbreakable bond.

Scharping, who turns 28 in August, was originally selected by the Houston Texans with a second-round pick (No. 55 overall) in the 2019 NFL Draft. Scharping made 35 starts in 50 games (including playoffs) with the Texans before they waived him in August 2022. The Cincinnati Bengals claimed Scharping and he made two postseason starts in 34 total appearances. Scharping has significant experience at both guard positions. There is also the X-factor that we don’t know what the coaches are telling the QBs to work on. They might be stressing the short passing game. They might stress working the middle. We see results, but don’t know what is going on behind them. I’m not saying the QBs should get a free pass for their struggles. It is fair to scrutinize them and keep an eye on the situation. You want the struggles to lessen as the summer moves along. There is no guarantee that happens. Moore is the new offensive coordinator. Doug Nussmeier is the new QBs coach. They have had a lot of success over the years, but every situation is different. We have to wait and see what happens. The final point to make here is that Hurts is always going to be more of a gamer than a practice QB. Part of what makes him special is his ability to move around and create. That doesn’t factor into 7-on-7’s or most practice periods.

Archbishop Wood claimed the Pennsylvania Championship with dominant performances against Academy at Palumbo in the semifinal and Gwynedd Mercy in the final. Kingsway Regional lifted the New Jersey trophy after defeating reigning champions Mastery Charter before narrowly taking down Egg Harbor Township in the championship game.

The length of contract is likely one that makes the Cowboys squirm given that it is a four-year extension and the team generally likes something longer than that. But there are more pressing matters. It seems like a formality at this point that Lamb will come in at $35M per year at the very least, but again there is a bigger elephant in the room. The most logical number that Lamb’s camp has now circled is the $88.7M fully guaranteed at signing. Will the Cowboys come to terms on that? If not how far south (as Schefter put it) will they come in? As noted Tyreek Hill is now second at $52.7M so there is quite the gap to play around with.

A titan in NFL lore has passed away, with former Dallas Cowboys’ guard Larry Allen passing away at 52 years old. Allen is one of the greatest offensive linemen to ever play the game, and not only helped revolutionize the guard spot in the NFL, but also paved holes for RB Emmitt Smith and the Dallas Cowboys en route to winning multiple Super Bowls (the last time the Cowboys were actually good). Larry Allen was also one of the strongest players to ever play the game, a folktale a la John Henry truly come to life. Here he is at the Pro Bowl, bench pressing 225 pounds 43 times while wearing a gold watch. That’s one of the coldest things any NFL player has ever done.
Report — Giants’ TE Darren Waller expected to retire – Big Blue View
If Waller, acquired by the Giants via trade last season, retires or is cut the Giants will save $11.625 million against the salary cap. Because of pro-rate signing bonus money remaining in his contract, the Giants would carry a $2.458 million cap charge this year and a $4.916 million cap charge in 2025. The Giants acquired Waller, who had 1,000-yard receiving seasons in 2019 and 2020 with the Las Vegas Raiders, for a third-round pick last season. They hoped to build their passing attack around the tight end, but that did not happen.
