Charles Barkley joined Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay to speak openly about his feelings on Michael Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan, dating Larsa Pippen, Scottie Pippen’s ex-wife.
Barkley speaks on Jordan-Pippen relationship drama
When Shannon asked Barkley if he would feel some type of way if he was in Jordan or Pippen’s shoes, he quickly showed his true feelings. “Hell yeah!” said the Round Mound of Rebound.
The NBA great, who was friends with Michael, said he felt bad for MJ because of the effect that Larsa and Marcus dating had on his friendship with former Chicago Bulls running mate Scottie Pippen.
“If you win six (championships) together, y’all should be damn near blood brothers, so that’s the thing I feel most bad.”
Are Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan still together?
Instead, the Hall of Famers got stuck in reality TV show drama. Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa Pippen divorced Scottie in 2021, and then she dated Marcus, a.k.a. “Heir Jordan,” on and off from 2022 to 2024.
The couple appeared on the Peacock TV show The Traitors together, and even launched a relationship podcast together called Separation Anxiety in 2023. The title turned out to be prescient, as they proceeded to split around Valentine’s Day in 2024. However, the back-and-forth history of their relationship always leaves the door open for a rekindling
The relationship clearly weighed on Air Jordan, who told a TMZ photographer in 2023 that he did not approve of Marcus and Larsa’s relationship. Although he tried to stay out of it, there was no escaping the resulting awkwardness with Scottie, with whom he already had tension dating back to their playing days.
“There are no winners. There’s only losers,” Barkley told Sharpe, with a twinge of sadness. “Michael and Scottie’s relationship will never be the same.”
