Lakers News: LeBron James Rockets Up NBA’s All-Time Games Played List After Kings Game

LOS ANGELES LAKERS

LeBron James is climbing another NBA leaderboard.

Thanks to James playing in the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Sacramento Kings last night (he scored 31 points, by the way), he has now moved up to No. 6 on the all-time games played list. James has now passed one-time ex-Laker Karl Malone in games played, with 1,477 contests in his career.

Now, only Robert Parish, Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Vince Carter, Dirk Nowitzki and John Stockton have played more games than LeBron. Stockton ranks fifth with 1,504 games played, meaning LeBron has to play 28 more games to pass Stockton. To become the all time leader in games played over Parish (who has played 1,611 games), LeBron would have to play 135 more. This is doable if he plays for another two seasons, depending on injuries.

This is just another milestone for LeBron, who recently became the first player in NBA history to surpass the 40,000 point mark over this past weekend. This was a year after LeBron lapped Abdul-Jabbar to become the all-time leading NBA scorer. As he continues to cross these milestones and move up the leaderboards, LeBron is further cementing his place in the NBA history books.LeBron rejects idea of canceling NBA season | Otago Daily Times Online News
