Was it really just one missed call?
The first thing Los Angeles Lakers fans and some members of the team went out to do after Game 2 of their NBA Playoffs clash was blast the officiating.
Many heated heads were not pleased with how certain fouls committed by the Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets to players like Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and D’Angelo Russell shaped the trajectory of a crucial matchup. The league’s official last two-minute report came out and it looks like the referees may have admitted to only one mistake.
It was not the foul on the layups. It was not even on the scramble before Michael Porter Jr.’s clutch 3-pointer against the Lakers. Instead, it was a mere violation that the officials felt they should have called against Nikola Jokic, via Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.

One big incident that the Lakers faithful keep pointing out was committed on D’Angelo Russell. The foul against LeBron James after that also infuriated a lot of fans. They even went to social media to express their disdain for the calls.
“The only thing bad about that DLo non-call was the Jamal Murray weak touch foul on LeBron that got called towards the end of the game. That can’t be a foul in the playoffs, given the ref’s angle that called it,” a user wrote.
Another avid spectator even spotted big inconsistencies in the officiating, “Call the game consistently. Even though it’s obvious that the MPJ slap vs DLO is a foul 100% of the time. We all would have lived with it if they didn’t call a foul when Bron literally touched Murray and he flew out of bounds.
“The fact that refs reviewed and ignored a BLATANT foul. Giving the nuggets FTs for what they have been saying is a noncall the entire game, is what’s so irksome.”
Lakers’ Darvin Ham reacts to the calls

Running schemes in these types of situations can be quite hard. This is exactly what LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ coach felt during the whole duration of their NBA Playoffs clash against the Nuggets.
“Some tough calls. Some tough non-calls. But you can’t use any of that as an excuse… It’s getting really tricky. You go through the season with games being officiated one way. Then you get to the playoffs. I guess it’s left up to the interpretation of the three individual guys that are doing the job out there,” Darvin Ham said.
LeBron James even exclaimed how frustrated he was after the Lakers did not get a lot of calls.
“I don’t understand what’s going on in the replay center, to be honest. D-Lo clearly gets hit in the face on the drive. What the f**k do we have a replay center [for]? Makes no sense to me. It bothers me. And then I just saw what happened with the Sixers-Knicks game too… what are we doing?” the Lakers legend proclaimed.
