We can get straight to the Boston Celtics vs. Denver Nuggets NBA Finals matchup in the NBA postseason if the betting market is a reliable indicator.

There is a definite favorite in each conference following the conclusion of the NBA regular season on Sunday. The odds for Boston to make the Finals are far higher than those of any team in the Eastern Conference. Furthermore, the Nuggets are strong favorites to win the West despite the fact that the Western Conference is more competitive than the East.

Gamblers adore the two front-runners. The Nuggets (27.3%) and the Celtics (26%), respectively, are the two clubs that have received the highest wagers on the NBA champion at BetMGM. The odds reflect the fact that those two clubs are favored by more than half of the money.

At least we would have a good final matchup if the playoffs’ first few rounds are that predictable.

NBA Finals winning oddsThere’s a noticeable gap between the top two and the rest of the NBA as the postseason gets underway. The following are the BetMGM odds for the championship, with all teams having odds less than 35 to 1:

Celtics +180

Nuggets +300

Clippers +1200

Bucks +1300

Thunder +1600

Mavericks +1800

76ers +1800

The Nuggets’ huge favorites status despite not being the top seed may be the only surprise. Denver’s chance at the top spot was ruined on Friday when they lost to the San Antonio Spurs despite blowing a large lead. Despite the odds, you wouldn’t have guessed that the Thunder would take the #1 seed. The second seed in the West is Denver.

It comes as much less of a surprise that the Celtics are ahead of all the odds.

Nuggets and Celtics seem formidable.Boston outperformed every other East team by 14 games with a 64-18 record.

Even before the playoffs begin, its astounding -175 odds to win the East and advance to the NBA Finals are difficult to argue against.

The Milwaukee Bucks had a late-season meltdown that put them out of contention, and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s calf injury is a major worry.

The 76ers still need to win the play-in round, but they might conceivably pose a threat to the Celtics. It will be a major upset if Boston fails to get at least to the Finals.

Even though Denver’s odds of winning the West are only +140, it will have a greater task. Considering they are the top seed and had a fantastic season, the Thunder (+700 to win the West) look a little undervalued in the odds.

However, Oklahoma City still carries the stigma of being the youngest club to receive a No. 1 seed, and the Nuggets, who won the championship the previous season, include NBA MVP favorite Nikola Jokic. Despite the Thunder’s obvious skill, playoff experience usually counts.

The NBA playoffs might follow a predictable pattern, with the reigning champion Nuggets emerging from the West to take on the undisputed best and deepest club in the league—the Celtics. That season finale would be acceptable to many bettors.
