Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, having secured two Super Bowl victories in the last four years, were widely regarded as favorites for a repeat in 2023, bolstered by key players like Travis Kelce.

However, a surprising 24-9 loss to the Denver Broncos on the road has suddenly cast doubt on Andy Reid and his team. It’s worth noting that the last team to achieve consecutive Super Bowl wins was the New England Patriots in 2003 and 2004.

With the retirement of Tom Brady, Mahomes and Kelce were expected to dominate the league. Yet, many NFL contenders now aim to dethrone them, a fact not lost on the star tight end. Kelce issued a stern warning to the Chiefs, emphasizing the need for immediate action to salvage their championship hopes.

Speaking on his popular podcast “New Heights,” Kelce expressed concern about the team’s current situation, urging for swift solutions before matters worsen. “It’s a challenge at this point in the season to get this thing right right now before it gets out of control and it gets really bad,” he remarked.

With a crucial game against the Miami Dolphins looming, alarms are ringing following the Chiefs’ dismal performance against the Broncos. A loss in the upcoming game would jeopardize their chance of securing home-field advantage in the playoffs.

Kelce voiced his frustration with the team’s offensive struggles, acknowledging the burden it places on the defense. “We’ve got a lot of guys that usually figure out how to get this thing going. It’s just frustrating, man. Not putting up touchdowns week after week after week. It’s getting old,” he lamented.

Explaining the offensive woes, Kelce took responsibility and highlighted various factors contributing to their poor performance, including errors in route running, missed blocks, and dropped passes. “It starts with not killing ourselves. I mean, just daggers. Guys running the wrong routes. Guys not making blocks. Guys dropping the football. It’s frustrating,” he admitted.
