Nick Wright suggests that when it comes to comparing football prowess, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is akin to Babe Ruth, leaving Tom Brady far behind in the dust.

After Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes won his third Super Bowl ring through just seven years in the league, the debate about who’s better between him and Tom Brady have only intensified. For FOX Sports analyst Nick Wright, however, there’s really no debate.

Wright emphasized that Mahomes has already exceeded Brady and that he’s already the standard in the NFL. With that said, the comparisons for the Chiefs QB are the GOATs of other sports.

Nick Wright Drops Major Praise for Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes

During the latest episode of First Things First, Wright and the rest of the crew were talking about if the correct comparison for Mahomes is Michael Jordan or Tom Brady. It came after Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said that they would be implementing what would be the NFL version of the so-called Jordan Rules–which Pierce called the Patrick Mahomes Rules.

The controversial tactics aside, it sparked a discussion since Pierce basically compared Mahomes to Michael Jordan.

For Wright, however, he doesn’t want to compare the Chiefs signal-caller to anyone in the NFL because Mahomes has already surpassed that level.

“There is no comp for Patrick Mahomes. … He is going to be the standard to which guys are held. He is not held to anyone’s standard. He is Babe Ruth, he is Wayne Gretzky, he is Tiger Woods,” Wright shared, emphasizing that Brady is not even close to Mahomes.

Wright argued that Brady didn’t have as much success as Mahomes has had early in his career. The Chiefs have made the playoffs every year since the quarterback arrived in 2017, and they have made the conference championship in the last six years and the Super Bowl four times in the last five.

In comparison, while Brady has also won three Super Bowls through his first seven years, he did miss the playoffs once early on. For Wright, that shows just how dominant Mahomes has been.
