Patrick Mahomes admitted that Kansas City Chiefs players made jokes at Travis Kelce’s expense at the start of his romance with Taylor Swift.

During the Chiefs QB’s Friday appearance on “CBS Mornings,” Mahomes said Kelce dealt with a handful of “jokes” when the other players learned Kelce was romancing the 34-year-old pop singer, but admitted they’ve since changed their tune.

“At first, I feel like everybody kind of stayed away, just let him do what he was doing,” the Kansas City star told CBS.

“And then he started bringing Taylor around and he realized how cool in person she was and she is,” he added. “So for us — I mean, it was a couple of jokes here and there in the beginning — but now, she’s just part of Chiefs Kingdom and she’s part of the team.”

Mahomes also reflected on the budding friendship between Swift and Mahomes’ wife Brittany Mahomes. He said it’s “cool” the “Shake It Off” hitmaker has “embraced” Brittany.

“So for me, it’s just Travis, man and he’s lucky enough to be with a great girl — and a great woman — and it’s been cool to kind of interact with her and see ’cause she’s top tier of her profession and see how she drives and she becomes that,” the Super Bowl-winning QB said.

“And now I have a first-hand look at that through Brittany and Travis’ eyes … I think that’s why her and Travis match so well,” he added.

Swift recently spilled the details about her romance with Kelce and said they were already a couple when she went to his first game back on September 24.
