Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce has seen his popularity skyrocket over the last few weeks. While he was always an important figure in Philadelphia sports, rumors that he may retire following the Eagles’ playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led to more national NFL outlets talking about him. Of course, his presence at Kansas City Chiefs‘ playoff games along with Taylor Swift, who is dating his brother, Travis Kelce, only made him even more well-known outside the traditional football fanbase.

Earlier this week, the seven-time Pro Bowler and six-time First Team All-Pro announced his retirement from football in an emotional press conference. While many suspected that the future Hall of Famer was calling it a career following this season, it did not make the decision any easier for anyone. That being said, not that his playing days are over, the time has come to celebrate his legendary career.

Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce Are Honored by the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA

The Travis brothers may be famous in their respective teams’ home markets, but home for them was originally Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Their connection to their hometown can be seen in the name of their podcast, “New Heights Podcast.”

With the announcement of Jason’s retirement, the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers put together a night to celebrate the brothers and their contributions to their community back home. Many of the images from this celebration when viral on social media:

The Cavaliers also gifted Jason with a framed Cavs jersey with his name and football number on it.

Cleveland ended the Boston Celtics’ 11-game winning streak, which had Travis pretty hyped.

Cleveland used a viral photo from Jason’s celebration at the Chiefs’ playoff game against the Buffalo Bills to declare their victory.

The Kelce brothers clearly liked the “improvements” the Cavs made on their physical appearance when designing their bobbleheads.

The gold basketball and a wrestling mask, which is a nod towards the mask Jason wore at the post-Super Bowl parties after the Chiefs won this year.

The work of giving back will not end just because Jason’s playing career is over. He is deeply involved in the Philadelphia Eagles’ Autism Foundation, a cause which is wife Kylie is also heavily influential in, and the brothers’ New Heights Schools Foundation works to give back to schools in the Cleveland area.
