Patrick Mahomes might be looking to become a WWE Superstar after appearing at an event last month. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and hinted at his desire to compete in a WWE match.
“The WWE thing was awesome,” Mahomes told Pat McAfee. “That thing was sweet. I should have got in the ring, man. I got to show off my skills a little bit.”
Mahomes showed up to WWE Raw at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City with Logan Paul and his Chiefs teammates Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith. He also brought his three Super Bowl rings and gave them to Paul so he could use them against fan favorite Jey Uso. The plan didn’t work, but Mahomes and his offensive lineman were cheered loudly despite working a heel angle on the show.
“That’s my man Logan,” Mahomes said. “I know he’s not the biggest fan favorite there in the WWE, but I had to make sure I try to help him out a little bit.” Mahomes also added that he was “definitely scared of the big dude,” referring to Braun Strowman.
“I was very very glad and thankful for Jay Uso of getting him out of there because I was not ready to go,” Mahomes explained. Triple H, WWE Chief Creative Officer, saw the interview and invited Mahomes back to a WWE event. “You have an open invitation,” Triple H said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Let me know when.”
Before Mahomes had fun with McAfee, he got serious with the media about Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker. On Wednesday, Mahomes was asked about Butker’s comments during a commenctment speech that inlcuded women in the workplace and other topics.
“Yeah, I mean, kind of like I was talking about with the Rashee (Rice) thing, I think it’s just — I know Harrison,” Mahomes said. “I’ve known him for seven years. And I judge him based on the character that he shows every single day. And that’s a good person. That’s someone who cares about the people around him, cares about his family, and wants to make a good impact in society. When you’re in the locker room, there’s a lot of people from a lot of different areas of life and they have a lot of different views on everything.”
