The Mahomes family don’t just show up on the gridiron—they’re now making fast breaks into NBA fandom. Randi Mahomes, the matriarch of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s family, has shared an Instagram story that crossovers into the Dallas Mavericks territory.

The post includes a photo depicting a courtside huddle featuring Mavericks’ star Paul Jamaine Washington Jr., his kids, and Mia Mahomes, all sporting game-winning grins, with the caption, “Love the Mavs.”

The Dallas Mavericks recently clinched a nail-biter against the Golden State Warriors, with the final scoreboard reading 108-106. P.J. Washington Jr. was the standout performer, dropping a hefty 32 points to lead the Mavs to victory. And just like Patrick Mahomes’ admiration for Luka Doncic’s magic on the court, this Instagram story is a tip-off that the Mahomes’ support is more than skin deep.

The Super Bowl champ got to witness Mavs magic up-close as Kyrie Irving clinched the thriller with an incredible lefty game-winner. An awestruck Mahomes celebrated Kyrie Irving’s gameplay and even swapped jerseys with Luka Doncic after the buzzer-beater win.

Patrick Mahomes and Doncic’s mutual admiration for clutch greatness

Mahomes was on hisfeet clapping when Luka Doncic drained back-to-back step-back three-pointers to give the Mavericks a big lead in the second quarter against the Nuggets last month. Those clutch buckets were crucial as Dallas pulled out a narrow 107-105 win, with Doncic going off for 37 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists.

While Mahomes is a diehard Mavs fan who frequents their games, his favorite player is actually Carmelo Anthony from Melo’s days with the Nuggets. In an interview last year to CTRL The Narrative, Mahomes revealed, “I was a Carmelo Anthony fan, I was going the other way. Everybody was a LeBron fan so I loved LeBron but at the same time I wanted to have that guy.”

Fresh off capturing a Super Bowl ring with Kansas City in February, Mahomes is now chasing the nearly impossible in the NFL: a three-peat championship run. His fandom bridges sports, highlighting the respect between two titans who rise to the occasion on the biggest stages.
