Jay-Z is getting out of the ownership game so he can get fully immersed in the representation game according to a report by Yahoo! Sports reporter Adrian Wojnarowski.

The entertainment mogul/rapper currently has a less than one per cent share in the Brooklyn nets but recently started Roc Nation Sports, which has partnered with Creative Artists Agency to represent athletes.

New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano recently signed on with Jay-Z’s firm but NBA rules prohibit owners from being involved in agencies representing players.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Sean Carter, was a big part of the Nets marketing campaign in their move to Brooklyn this season as he had a hand in designing the logos as well as attracting free agents.

Along with CAA, he is taking time to reach the agreement to sell his share in the team in a way that is respectful to the organization, according to the report.
