After a confrontation with a New Jersey woman outside a restaurant that went viral earlier this week, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce and his wife, Kylie, have received a kind gesture that should help them forget about it.
“On behalf of the City of Margate, I’d like to formally apologize to Jason & Kylie Kelce for the experience they had in Margate City over the holiday weekend,” Collins said in a statement posted on Facebook on Wednesday (h/t Christian Arnold of the New York Post). “As a father with young children, I know as well as anyone the importance of a date night with your wife and would like to offer a redo date night with dinner on me.”
A short video started floating around online that showed the Kelces being berated by a woman as they were leaving a restaurant.
Per TMZ, the woman was upset over the couple politely declining to pose for a picture, and she could be heard in the video telling the Kelces they would “never be allowed in this town again.”
Before the video cut off, Kylie Kelce can be heard telling the woman, “I can smell the alcohol on your breath, you’re embarrassing yourself.”
Jason Kelce, who recently retired from the NFL after a stellar 13-year career, discussed his vacation on a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, saying he had fun at the Jersey Shore and enjoyed the restaurant’s chocolate chip pancakes. However, he didn’t publicly address the incident with the fan.
